Today, we launched transLucid version 1.5. Which is the reason why we have been more quiet than usual in the last couple of weeks!
It is a publishing system, geared in particular for users of knowledge-management desktop applications. Its strengths are the powerful importing & exporting functionality, easy install & editing that is similar to popular wiki systems (although easier to learn). Next to its usage as a collaboration-tool for small teams, it already powers several websites where it is used as a light-weight content-management-system.
We have been continuously releasing and integrating feedback from our growing user-base throughout the last couple of months. We feel it is ready for prime-time. Next on our list is to offer a hosted solution powered by transLucid and to offer it as a white-labeled product to ISPs, web-host providers, etc.
Many good reasons to install transLucid:
* No requirement for a MySQL database
* Content can be stored in a web rather than in a strict hierarchy
* Importing of PersonalBrain XML files into transLucid (download of PBExporter required), including all notes
* MindManager support coming up
* Includes the choice between two graphical editors (TinyMCE & FCKeditor)
* Easy and fast editing thanks to AJAX, functional layout and a robust backend
* Fully internationalized; choose a layout for each language (UTF8 support)
* RSS feeds for all transLucid pages so that your visitors can subscribe and stay informed
* Smarty template engine (widely adopted and open-source) allowing for complete flexibility in creating custom-layouts
* Websites that are powered by transLucid are completely searchable, configurable and XHTML 1.0 compliant
Seeing is believing, which is why the sandbox is now running the latest version. Edit at will under: http://www.pantha.net/sandbox/
